How Can I Tell What Season It Is?

Specifically, I am playing in the Plains region and I was just wondering how I may tell what season it is..! Any answers? Suggestions?

Well you can judge by the environment of what season it is, for example: if the trees are leafless then its winter, if they have tine tiny leaves on them its spring, if they have big green leaves its summer, and of course if they have red and orange leaves its fall. You can also tell by the shade of the ground, and at the beginning of each season a message will pop up saying which season it is. If you want to know the months or weeks, Taru has found research on this:

If you want to mate fast, then you should pick winter in all regions, including Arctic.

I started my game in Spring and now its apparently winter, but I have yet to see any message pop up saying which season it is. I also never see a moon in the sky in the night to morning transition screen. I might also add the alpha male has yet to come to my alpha female to mate, as I know that the option to mate with your mate is pretty much pointless considering they need to go to you.

Any thoughts on why I don't see a message or a moon?
